2016 Recognition Ceremony

The 2nd Annual Our Community Salutes of Tempe was held on May 9, 2016.

Fifty-five seniors representing several Tempe high schools who were going into Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard and AZ Army National Guard were honored at the ceremony.

Guest speakers were Mayor Mark Mitchell, Lt. General Vern Findley, USAF retired, Colonel Wanda Wright, USAF retired (Director of the AZ Department of Veterans Services), and Jeff Guldner, SVP of Public Policy, APS.

2015 Recognition Ceremony

The inaugural Our Community Salutes of Tempe was held at the Tempe Center for the Arts on May 11, 2015. Mayor Mark Mitchell, Mayor of the City of Tempe, officiated the program along with retired Brigadier General Richard Gregg Maxon, Arizona National Guard (Ret.) delivering additional remarks.

The event was sponsored by the University of Phoenix and Helping Hands for Freedom.
